|
|
I have Firefox 1.5.0.6 and I can't install the plugin. it says:
Incompatatible Extension
Online Bookmark Manager 1.0.1 could not be installed because it is not compatable with Firefox 1.5.0.6 (Online Bookmark manager 1.0.1 will only work with Firefox versions from 1.5 to 1.6)
Just thought you would like to know. |

Thats strange. I use Firefox 1.5.0.6 and OBm Plugin Version 1.0.1. You are right: Online Bookmark manager 1.0.1 will work with Firefox versions from 1.5 to 1.6. And Firefox 1.5.0.6 is between 1.5 and 1.6. So this should be ok!
If anyone else has this problem, please post it here. |

| I assume you had the OBM 1.0.1 before you upgraded to FF 1.5.0.6. I was already upgraded... an then tried to install OBM. I am going to try it on my laptop tonight... may uninstall FF and install a old copy. I will let you know how it goes. |

I 've got the same problem. When you try to Sync an Alert window popup appears.
The Windows says " An error has occured. The program needs an update. See Tools-> Extensions -> Online Bookmark Manager".
Firefox version is 1.5.0.6 |

OK, I had already updated to the 1.5.0.7 (new update came out...) so I uninstalled and reinstalled 1.5. After this was done I had no problem installing OBM and it worked fine. I then updated to 1.5.0.7 again and OBM still works... I have noticed that there are quite a few other extensions that will not install with the 1.5.0.7. I wonder if it has something to do with the plugins being compatable with 1.5.* vs 1.5.*.* or something like that.
Sorry for the delay on the repost. |

Chris,
I think I figured it out... I found this
| Quote: |
When I try to download, I get a message saying that XXX isn't compatible. What should I do?
First, make sure that you are in fact running a compatible version of Firefox (currently 1.5 though 1.5.0.5). You can check the version of Firefox you're running on the About menu (on Windows, in the Help menu; on Mac, on the Apple menu). If you aren't running a compatible version, upgrade Firefox by going here.
If you're running a compatible version of Firefox but Firefox still complains about version incompatibility, perform the following steps:
1. In the address bar type "about:config".
2. In the filter box type "version".
3. If you see an entry that says "app.extensions.version", reset it by right-clicking on that entry and then select the "Reset" option.
After making these changes, try to install again.

I found this on this site: http://www.foxcloud.com
Click on F.A.Q. and look in the trouble shooting section
I have not tried this yet but will tomorrow on my work computer... i already have it installed on this one.... [/quote] |
